Are you staying in Nuevo Vallarta and you want to learn how to surf or improve your surfing technique? You are in the right place!
We provide first-class technical surf lessons on a pristine beach called La Lancha, approximately 30 minutes away from Nuevo Vallarta.
Playa La Lancha’s gentle waves are perfect for an unforgettable surfing experience.
The lessons usually last approx 2.5 hours.
A true Surf Coaching Experience
Green Lagoon’s head coach is the only level 2 certified ISA surf instructor in this area.
He and his team will first walk you through the theory on the beach. This will prepare you to surf your first wave and will give you the tools to practice the sport.
You will learn things like how to paddle through the waves safely. How and where to position yourself to catch more waves. How to paddle to take off and pop-up. The surf etiquette, what to do and what not to do in the lineup. Everything that you need to know to be comfortable surfing.
1 coach every 4 adults (or 2 children) will be there to assist you. They’ll literally push you into your first white water waves.
If you are fit for it, they will help you try to catch your first unbroken green waves.

Why not doing the lessons in Nuevo Vallarta beach?
There are a couple of spots suitable for surf lessons in Nuevo Vallarta. However, in our opinion, they are not ideal.
Waves are not as consistent. The scenery is not as beautiful being at the exit of a Marina, the ocean is brownish most of the time.
More consistent waves, white sand, and turquoise warm waters make the beaches of Punta Mita, a better setting for our Surf Tours.
Our Surf Lessons Include:
- Rashguard
- Surfboard
- Surf Coach

I participated in a 7 days surf camp with Green Lagoon the last summer. I was hoping to learn enough to start surfing on my own. I haven’t stopped since. These guys (Roberto in particular) gave me all the tools and knowledge needed to go out there and not look like a kook. Ever since learning in Punta Mita, I’ve been surfing in a few breaks in South Cali. I feel like I’m already better than many people with more experience than me, but who never took a surf lesson. They manage to ride their waves, but you can tell they have no idea what they are doing. I’m thankful to the Green Lagoon Coaches for everything they thought me. Thanks to them I’m advancing a lot faster.
