El Faro requires big north swells 6 feet and higher and works best with winds from the North. When these conditions are met, stoke is guaranteed.
To Reach this surf spot you will need to walk from El Anclote approx 20 minutes over the rocks, or catch a ride in a Panga (water taxi) to get you there quicker.
It’s best to have some experience to surf this break.
Surfers from all over the world come to this spot during Wintertime, when the conditions allow for the perfect waves.
That said, there are a few sections that would be suitable for beginners too.
The rock bottom allows for long slow waves, but also very fast waves.
When the tide is at its lowest, that’s when it’s the best time to jump in the water.
It’s not optimal to surf here when there’s high tide, but when the swell is big it doesn’t really matter.
